Head of the Earth Sciences Research Institute Honored as Outstanding Employer for Industry–Society Engagement

At the 34th Research and Technology Festival of the University of Tehran, Dr. Razieh Lak, Head of the Earth Sciences Research Institute of the Geological Survey of Iran, was honored as the Outstanding Employer in the field of Industry–Society Engagement.

The 34th Research and Technology Festival of the University of Tehran was held on December 14, 2025, with the participation of members of the boards of trustees of the University of Tehran and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, along with faculty members, researchers, and senior officials, at Allameh Amini Hall of the University of Tehran.

The selection and recognition of Dr. Razieh Lak reflect the influential role of the Earth Sciences Research Institute in strengthening the linkage between scientific research, industrial needs, and societal demands. This recognition was attributed to the institute’s continuous efforts in developing applied research, supporting problem-oriented projects, and expanding cross-sectoral collaborations in the field of earth sciences.

In another part of the festival, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Omid, President of the University of Tehran, referring to reports from the university’s Research Vice-Presidency, emphasized the need to enhance the university’s standing in global rankings. He stated: “The University of Tehran owes its current position to the efforts of its faculty members and researchers, and it is expected that with the strategic decisions adopted, we will witness improvements in scientific indicators in the coming year.”

According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Tehran, the selection of the Earth Sciences Research Institute of the Geological Survey of Iran as the outstanding employer highlights its effective role in advancing collaboration among industry, society, and academia, as well as the practical utilization of research capacities in the field of earth sciences.

The Research and Technology Festival of the University of Tehran is held annually with the aim of honoring leading contributors in research and technology and strengthening effective university–industry–society engagement. The recognition of outstanding employers plays a key role in achieving this objective.
