According to the public relations report of the Geological and Mineral Exploration Organization of the country, Dr. Dariush Esmaili, Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources and Head of this organization, arrived in Urmia, welcomed by Mr. Ehsan Joy, Head of the General Directorate of Industry, Mines and Trade of West Azerbaijan. According to this report, he traveled to this province as Deputy Minister of West Azerbaijan and met with the Governor of West Azerbaijan, visited the production units of Orum Shishe Sachi and Zabesan in Phase 3 of the Urmia Industrial Park, and participated in the closing session of the geological development plan and exploration of mineral reserves in the south of West Azerbaijan province. It is worth mentioning that during these visits, Dr. Amir Shahsavar Jalawat, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of West Azerbaijan Industrial Towns Company, and Engineer Jalal Dastranj, Deputy Director of Mining of the General Directorate of the Province of Samat, along with Dr. Razieh Lak, Director of the Geosciences Research Institute, Engineer Reza Jadidi, Director General of the Planning and Budget Office of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization of the Country, and Engineer Hassan Faizi, Director of the Urmia Geology and Mineral Exploration Center, and colleagues of this center, will accompany him.

The importance of preparing geological maps

After producing basic geological maps of the country at a scale of 1:250,000 in the early years of the organization's activity and its complete coverage, experts and decision-makers decided to produce more accurate maps in the field of geology and exploration at a scale of 1:100,000 with the aim of producing more appropriate basic information to provide the necessary information to reduce private sector risk and promote mining and infrastructure development activities in the country.
