Closing Ceremony of the Training Course on 1:50,000-Scale Geological Mapping Held to Empower the Next Generation of Geoscientists

 

The four-day training course on 1:50,000-scale geological and geochemical mapping, organized by the Research Institute of Earth Sciences of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran (GSI), concluded on the afternoon of Saturday, July 26, 2025. The closing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and President of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran, the organization's deputy presidents, and the Head of the Research Institute of Earth Sciences.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran, Dr. Dariush Esmaeili, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and President of GSI, emphasized the importance of practical training for graduates in geology and mineral exploration. He stated that one of the organization's primary objectives is to educate highly skilled graduates equipped with practical expertise in the Earth sciences.

Dr. Esmaeili also stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration with leading universities in the field of Earth sciences, noting that specialized training remains one of the organization's highest priorities, particularly within the framework of the country's geological mapping and mineral exploration transformation programs.

During the ceremony, Dr. Razieh Lak, Head of the Research Institute of Earth Sciences, addressed the participants. She reaffirmed the Institute's commitment to continuing professional training opportunities for graduates and expressed her satisfaction with the strong participation of students and recent graduates in the program. She also extended her appreciation to the President of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran for his continued support of educational and research initiatives in the field of Earth sciences.
